Reading for this week MEC September 1
Hi everyone. Copy Outlet still has not contacted me regarding the course packet, so I've come up with a reading for this week's class discussion. You can find a copy of it in the white milk crate outside my office door.

Fieldcraft 2/26
Hi all—
I am absolutely swamped, and I am not at all sure I am going
to be able to grade your journals before class tomorrow. So please come pick
them up at your convenience and I’ll try to get caught up on the grading next
week.
Tomorrow is supposed to be pretty, so I’d like to meet out
at the City of Lubbock Cemetery to do some bird watching. The address is 2011
East 31st St. a link to the map of the cemetery is below. We will
meet at the mausoleum, on the east side.

Hi all—
It’s supposed to be a beautiful day tomorrow, so let’s meet
outside the Honors College at 2 PM. We will be going bird-watching, so bring
your journals, your field guides, and your binoculars.
I have been absolutely swamped today, and so will not be
able to finish grading your journals until tomorrow. They will be done by noon,
however—plenty of time for you to pick them up for class!

Fieldcraft Feb 5
Hi all:
I've been monitoring the weather for class tomorrow. We are expected to have 1-2" of snow overnight, so that means that if anything, we might have a delay tomorrow morning for classes, but not an all-day cancellation of classes. However, not much traffic goes out to the Landmark, so roads might be icy in spots. Given that, I'd like to move our classes to ENGL 304 for tomorrow so that people do not have to travel any more by car than they have to. I will also post this info on the FB page and the blog.
ENGL 304 at 2 M, unless there is a full day of class cancellation.

Bones Botanicals Birds 1/27
Hi all--
I believe we are going to be in EDUC 165 (the Education building) tomorrow. Meet me there--I will have to get a key, so the room may not be open when you first arrive.
Cheers,
Dr T

Hi all--
Tomorrow is supposed to be really cold, so we will meet INSIDE the Lubbock Lake Landmark interpretive center for class. Park in the parking lot at the top of the hill and walk down to the center. Wait there in the lobby for me.

Hi everyone,
Remember that we are meeting in our regular tutorial groups this week, where we will be doing a writing exercise. No assignments are due until next week's tutorials; at that time you will hand in your first draft to me and all of your tutorial mates, to be edited for the following week's tutorial.
Please Read "Heaven and Earth in Jest" by Annie Dillard on page 22 of your course packet. We will be discussing this in the Monday class discussion.

Hi everyone--
LLL today. Bring your binoculars and be prepared to walk. It looks like it is going to be a pretty day, so we will spend a short time on introducing mapping, and then go out into the field for bird and wildflower ID.

Hi all—
Tomorrow doesn’t look especially warm, but it won’t be especially cold, either. Therefore, I think it is a perfect day to meet on campus at the courtyard behind the English and Philosophy buildings and do a little lesson on drawing things in perspective. Be prepared to sit on the ground and dress warmly.
Cheers,
