MEC 12/2

Hi everyone--

I think the easiest (and least confusing thing) to do is to simply pick up where we left off with the tutorials last week. We will workshop the essay dealing with solace and emptiness. You can also hand in the draft of the poem I had assigned.

As for your final poem, it is still due on or before the final.

We will not be discussing "The Mappist," and there will be no further writing assignments.

See you tomorrow and Tuesday!

MEC 11/26 update

Hi everyone--

Apparently there is a problem with the course packet copy of "the Mappist." I'll bring a correct version of it to class tomorrow. In the meantime, don't worry about a reading assignment for tomorrow. We'll do an in class writing exercise instead.

Cheers,

Dr T

MEC 11/26

Hi everyone--

Please read "The Mappist" in your course packet.

Also, remember that this week will be our last week of tutorials, so we will start wrapping up our writing assignments.

LoP 11/12

Hi everyone--

I fear that the Pie Bar will be too small for our needs tomorrow, so I'd like us to meet at the gazebo in Wagner Park, 26th and Flint. I'll bring the pie. The weather should be pleasant, but cool. Please bring something to sit on (a blanket or crazy creek is sufficient) and dress warmly.

Cheers,

Dr T

Hi everyone—

We will be meeting at the Lubbock Cemetery on Tuesday at 2:30. Bring your journals and be prepared to sit and draw. Please read “Constructing Nature,” on page 34 in your course packet.

A map to the cemetery can be found here: https://maps.google.com/maps?oe=&ie=UTF-8&q=lubbock+city+cemetery&fb=1&gl=us&hq=cemetery&hnear=0x86fe12add37ddd39:0x1af0042922e84287,Lubbock,+TX&cid=0,0,15671696603854658705&ei=vr6BUPDNFcnE2gXg_4HYAQ&ved=0CDcQrwswAA

Also, there has been some confusion about when the midterms are due, for which I take responsibility. I don’t believe I have yet set a due date, and so I’ll set one now: October 30, at the start of class. I’ve talked to a couple of you who are having trouble getting supplies for your projects, so that should give you plenty of time. One of you has already turned in the midterm; if you would like to take advantage of the extra time to work some more on it, please feel free to do so.

Cheers!

MEC tutorials paper new due date

My apologies! I understand that there is some confusion about the due date for the tutorial papers. I've decided that rather than having them due on Tuesdays, I'd like you to turn them in at the start of each tutorial. I'll explain this further in class tomorrow.
