The forecast for tomorrow is breezy and cooler, which would probably make sitting outside discussing the readings and then riding to Market Street uncomfortable. So our plans have changed as follows:
Bring your bikes and park them outside the admin building.
Meet in the classroom for discussion of the three readings (one Kingsolver in packet; one Kingsolver as handout; one Pollan from link in post below). Have your discussion points ready to go. Do a little extra research on the issues of fair trade so that you are familiar with the concept.
Following the discussion, I'd like to get on our bikes and do a tour of everyone's midterm campus sites. Be prepared to tell us why you selected the spot, how it does or does not relate to sense of place, and what you are planning to sketch. We'll ride to each spot on our bikes, and we'll be standing around listening to people talk, so be sure you dress for the weather.
